VELLORA SHIELD — PRIVACY POLICY

Vellora Shield ("the App", "we", "our") is an AI-powered SMS threat detection and quarantine application built for Android devices. This Privacy Policy explains what data we access, how we use it, and your rights as a user.

By installing and using Vellora Shield, you agree to this policy.

1. DATA WE ACCESS & SENSITIVE PERMISSIONS

To fulfill its core purpose as a secure protective utility, Vellora Shield requires access to specific sensitive Android device permissions:

SMS Messages (READ_SMS, RECEIVE_SMS, SEND_SMS, WRITE_SMS)

Vellora Shield reads incoming SMS messages to detect threats such as phishing, loan shark extortion, financial fraud, and social engineering attacks targeting Nigerian users.

• We analyze message content locally on your device using keyword scoring.
• Suspicious messages are optionally processed via Groq AI (a third-party cloud API) for deeper threat analysis, only if explicitly enabled by the user.
• No SMS content is stored on our servers.
• No SMS content is shared with any party other than Groq Inc. operational endpoints.

Device Contacts (READ_CONTACTS)

The App requests access to your device's address book solely to match raw incoming phone numbers (e.g., +234...) against your saved contact names. This ensures your trusted personal contacts are not mistakenly flagged by the threat filters. Contact data is processed entirely on-device and is never transmitted off your phone.

Phone State (READ_PHONE_STATE)

We request this permission to identify your device's active SIM card slots. This is required solely to handle multi-SIM SMS routing and functionality.

Notifications & Overlay (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW)

We use system alerts to draw mitigation options immediately on your screen when a malicious background message is flagged, allowing instant user-driven isolation.

2. THIRD-PARTY AI PROCESSING (GROQ)

When you enable Auto AI Analysis within the App's Settings panel, the content of suspicious SMS messages (sender number and message body) is transmitted securely via HTTPS to Groq, Inc. for real-time threat evaluation.

• Groq's privacy policy is available at: https://groq.com/privacy-policy
• Data sent to Groq is used only for generating an automated threat score analysis response.
• Groq does not retain or store your messages beyond the operational execution duration of the API call.
• You can disable this external AI analysis completely at any time via Settings → AI Engine → Auto AI Analysis.

3. DATA WE DO NOT COLLECT OR SHARE

Vellora Shield does not:

• Collect your name, email, account details, or personal identity.
• Transmit or save SMS content onto Vellora Creative Ventures' servers.
• Sell, rent, share, or monetize user data with brokers, third-party advertisers, or marketing companies.
• Track or log your physical location.
• Access your device photos, media files, storage directory, or camera.

4. DATA STORAGE & SECURITY

All app assets — quarantine archives, custom threat lists, sensitivity preferences, and protection statuses — are stored exclusively on your local device storage using encrypted Android SharedPreferences blocks. This data is fully isolated and cannot be read by other applications running on your system.

We do not host or operate backend cloud databases that keep your data.

5. DEFAULT SMS APP HANDLER FUNCTIONS

To execute full pre-delivery threat mitigation and blocking, Vellora Shield must be designated by the user as the Default SMS Application handler. As the default handler:

• All incoming text streams are natively routed through the application for security filtering.
• Valid, clean messages are written to your system inbox and safely displayed in your Messages view.
• Malicious texts are securely intercepted and moved to the local Quarantine Archive before hitting your primary text list.
• The app facilitates standard text execution, including the ability to permanently delete message threads when initiated by the user.
• You can revert back to your device's native messaging system at any time via Android Settings → Default Apps.

6. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Vellora Shield is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly monitor or collect data from minors. If you discover a child has enabled this application, contact us immediately at privacy@velloracreative.com for structural removal.

7. YOUR RIGHTS AND DATA CONTROL

You retain complete ownership and control over your communications data. You have the right to:

• Access and Review: Your local quarantine logs directly inside the dashboard.
• Wipe Archive Log Files: Completely at any time via Settings → Data & Storage → Clear Quarantine Archive.
• Disable AI Engine Processing: To keep all text validation 100% local on-device.
• Revoke Device System Permissions: Inside your Android System Settings panel.
• Uninstall the App: Which automatically purges every piece of text and cache stored by Vellora Shield.

8. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy as our protection algorithms evolve. Changes become effective immediately upon being uploaded with a revised "Last Updated" metadata stamp. Continued interaction with the software indicates compliance with current terms.
